*a starry glimpse*

Heya all - well, another update on recent happenings.
Been almost a fortnight since Urs truly's Convocation, and yet I catch myself reminiscing of old memories -

'Cos the Class Valedictorian was from our Dept & Honours class (and a dear friend of mine, too - a friendship forged primarily because we almost always ended up being seated either in front/behind each other) - i guess we must've been one of the most boisterous Depts that afternoon.

Fixing one another's convocation gowns in the quick passage to the stage (before receiving our scrolls),
making such a din rooting for our dear valedictorian-Dept. mate before she delivered her speech and giving her a sound & looong-lasting standing ovation with the closure,
rushing to click away so as to imprint treasured varsity memories in time,
practise-throwing, throwing & re-throwing our mortar boards up high
again & again -- and having loadsa fun meanwhile of course - finding them all back again, in the rain..

Well, well - those were some golden moments to be cherished forever - in the deeper echelons of one's heart, of course -

& for all my dearest (blog-) friends who showered me with their wishes (for learning to tie the sari well..) and/or didn't get the chance to see the sari:

minervan moment in time

*A Starry Glimpse*
pink hood of my Dept gown with chosen sari (note: the twinkling crystals therein), mortar board und orange-red rose [my fave of the lot].

*Aside: Love roses more than any other blossom, i've come to realize - more than jasmine (Mom's fave) i.e. champak (dear Takurdaji's fave, it seemeth) - tho' i prefer to appreciate the lovely blossoms as they remain on their stalks (or plants) and not as stalkless blossom heads - somehow, doesn't that look too cruel/heartless just to snip off the delicate blossom just so it could adorn one human's superficial facade of beauty.. why not let it blossom, live & stay alive on its soil - and shine its magnificent glory for all around to be blessed by?

Before i take my leave, current engagements & a few gems to reflect on:
Reading ~ Helene Hanff's 84, Charing Cross Road. Beautiful, thus far.
Listening to ~ Pul Nuniyil ("On the tip of a grass-blade") from Niruban's pop album Moongil Nila ("Bamboo Moon"- or maybe it was meant to be the Moon peeking through the bamboo shoots..)
*Beautiful, beautiful poetry - esp. the 2nd verse
- No points for guessing the Singer;) To those familiar with his voice - go on, guess why this melody's a clear heart-stealer..

Gems to Reflect off our musings..
(Do share ur musings on these too, ya?)

I am a part of all that I have met. ~Alfred Lord Tennyson

It is better to know some of the questions than all of the answers. ~James Thurber

One day, someone showed me a glass of water that was half full. And he said, "Is it half full or half empty?" So I drank the water. No more problem. ~Alexander Jodorowsky

The fish trap exists because of the fish. Once you've gotten the fish you can forget the trap. The rabbit snare exists because of the rabbit. Once you've gotten the rabbit, you can forget the snare. Words exist because of meaning. Once you've gotten the meaning, you can forget the words. Where can I find a man who has forgotten words so I can talk with him? ~Chuang Tzu

If I make the lashes dark
And the eyes more bright
And the lips more scarlet,
Or ask if all be right
From mirror after mirror,
No vanity's displayed:
I'm looking for the face I had
Before the world was made.
~W.B. Yeats

Do take care all & Warmest Wishes,

Moments that will never be forgotten.

I have roses on my backyard and they help me inspire me in what to write next, I when I stare at the moon the stars and the sky that never grows old.
I guess the allmighty put us here on earth to describe what we see at any time at day.

I like Chuang Tzu as well.
